A Note on Mustaţă’s Computation of Multiplier Ideals of Hyperplane Arrangements
In [7], M. Mustaţă used jet schemes to compute the multiplier ideals of reduced hyperplane arrangements. We give a simpler proof using a log resolution and generalize to non-reduced arrangements. By applying the idea of wonderful models introduced by De Concini–Procesi [1], we also simplify the result. Indeed, Mustaţă’s result expresses the multiplier ideal as an intersection, and our result us...
متن کاملMultiplier ideals, b-function, and spectrum of a hyperplane singularity
We show a converse of a theorem of Ein, Lazarsfeld, Smith, and Varolin on the relation between the jumping coefficients and the roots of the Bernstein-Sato polynomial under certain hypotheses without which the assertion does not hold. For an explicit calculation we prove a formula for the multiplier ideals of stratified locally conical divisors, generalizing a formula of Mustata for a hyperplan...
متن کاملTwo Counterexamples for Power Ideals of Hyperplane Arrangements
We disprove Holtz and Ron’s conjecture that the power ideal CA,−2 of a hyperplane arrangement A (also called the internal zonotopal space) is generated by A-monomials. We also show that, in contrast with the case k ≥ −2, the Hilbert series of CA,k is not determined by the matroid of A for k ≤ −6. Remark. This note is a corrigendum to our article [1], and we follow the notation of that paper.
متن کاملHodge Spectrum of Hyperplane Arrangements
In this article there are two main results. The first result gives a formula, in terms of a log resolution, for the graded pieces of the Hodge filtration on the cohomology of a unitary local system of rank one on the complement of an arbitrary divisor in a smooth projective complex variety. The second result is an application of the first. We give a combinatorial formula for the spectrum of a h...
متن کاملComplex Hyperplane Arrangements
We were fortunate to spend the 2004 fall semester in residence at MSRI, participating in the program on Hyperplane Arrangements and Applications. It was an intense, stimulating, productive, enlightening, eventful and most enjoyable experience. It was especially so for us long-timers in the field because the program truly marked a coming-of-age in the evolution of the subject from relative obscu...
